US food allergen labeling regulations are fully implemented. Foods and health supplements containing food‑derived ingredients are mandatorily required to label eight major allergens: milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, peanuts and soybeans. Allergen information shall not only appear within the ingredient list but shall be displayed prominently separately. The use of “may contain” precautionary statements is strictly restricted. Enterprises cannot add such statements arbitrarily; assessment on actual cross‑contamination risks during manufacturing is mandatory. At US customs entry, imported foods and supplements will be inspected for allergen labels; missing labels will result in entry refusal.
