Enforcement of the US Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) is intensified. For all foods and dietary supplements sold into the US, overseas manufacturers must comply with FSVP obligations. US importers shall establish written foreign‑supplier verification procedures to verify overseas factory manufacturing conditions, raw‑material control and product safety, and conduct regular audits or equivalent audit documentation. FDA increases sampling frequency for foreign facilities. Cargo without valid FSVP files will be detained. Note: Compliance liability rests with US‑based importers. Nevertheless, overseas manufacturers shall cooperate by providing production records, test reports and other documents, otherwise customs clearance will be blocked. Many foreign‑trade exporters overlook FSVP‑related documentation preparation, leading to losses from detained cargo upon arrival.
